RE: How to beat depression #11
Thanks for this post. Positive in some categories. Always liked to play video games and musical instruments but now I can barely even play an hour without getting bored, tired or feel like my mind is off somewhere even if I knew I liked what I was doing and just lay in bed doing nothing soon after.

I don't feel depressed though, only thing would probably be the same as you (loniless), I have a girlfriend though, but no friends at all. I don't really mind though, cause I have you guys Wink

Yeah i can relate, everything was pretty much normal but i always had negative thoughts which was killing me inside.

I'm happy because i make you happy <3

You must find something you are passionate about, something you like to do, something which inspires you and dedicate yourself to it. You need to be surrounded with family, quality friends. We don't have much time in our life as some people might say, time is passing pretty fast in the age of technology.
Don't make distance from your friends & family, spend more time with every person who means a lot to you. Visit some of the greatest places you always wanted to, with them.
And I agree with @Cyb3rNuX , you need to open yourself to someone, tell everything that bothers you, that's the best way to feel better and connect with others.

I totally agree. Life is too short to spend it on sadness because of other people's actions.

We should live our life as best as we can, no one should stop us from being happy.

There are many forms of depression (Bipolar, Manic, Psychotic etc), and sometimes It can be difficult to diagnose, treat (finding suitable meds) and to determine an accurate prognosis.

In terms of treatment, I believe you've nailed It with this statement:
Quote:Psychologists won't help you much If you don't help yourself.

Yeah, i like it especially along with few other sentences.

It's good to have high quality sleep, but not much. Just like 8 hours, it's enough to keep you awake for a day.

Too much sleeping may result in even more need of sleep, which is really bad.

Agree.

I remember In my younger days when going out clubbing (night clubs), and returning early morning the following day. I used to sleep for around 12 hours and felt exhausted when I awoke. 12 hours didn't seem like enough sleep. Nowadays, I'm lucky to sleep half that amount.

You should've done something energy consuming back then, you'll feel more awake.

Currently i am in that period and doing something like running is keeping me more active and i need less sleep.

Very true.

All I did back then was go out, get drunk and sleep It off for 12 hours +. I should've at least try and keep active or sink a few Red Bulls. I believe being active, no matter what form It may be, can help with depression as well.
