Linux can be very hard to switch over to at first, as it certainly isn't too similar to Windows in every single aspect. However, once you get used to it, you will love it, and would have wished that you switched to it earlier in life.

The only downside to Linux is the fact that it might not support all hardware, and certainly does not support all Windows software that you know and love (especially video games). You can use a tool known as "Wine," or something else, to run Windows software on Linux, but this is not recommended as there is the potential for malware, alongside other things. However, if "Wine" works for you to run your Windows software, you may have problems with your hardware being supported, especially your graphics card. Many drivers for Linux are nowhere near as good as proprietary Windows drivers, and therefore, video games may run less efficiently on Linux (although this is not always the case).

Linux is a great number of times better in today's world, and Linux will usually support all of your hardware, anyway. There is just always the small chance that your hardware may not be supported, but when it is supported, there may only be trashy drivers available for it.

To shorten it up, Windows is better for video games, and Linux is better for everything else. Of course, however, that is just my opinion.

Great thanks, I'll probably install it soon

Thats what i do with Kali linux. I would recommend using that Linux OS to learn as it comes with many tools for pentesting, social engineering, Wifi cracking and more.

https://www.kali.org/

I Would Recommend You "Parrot OS" Because
Theres Many Bugs In Kali That Are Fixed In Parrot
"AnonSurf" Specially Written Code For Parrot That Transfers Whole Traffic Through The TOR Network ( I Know, You Can Install it on kali also but, there is always some problems)
More Privacy And This is only few from hundreds Why I Recommend You Parrot

Parrot Is Better Than Kali, Of course, however, that is just my opinion.

As for agreeing to Phyrrus, most of them do just take up space and programs you don't even need. installing your own is always the go.

Its not that (though that is a large portion of it). It's the retarded cult following and feeling of invincibility people have when using them. Using tor is no more secure than browsing the web on your home internet, with the SOLE exception when every request you EVER make stays within the tor network. That means if you go to google or facebook or discord or you use a non-tor DNS even one time you've just negated every single security benefit you had, and now you're just taking a 70% bandwidth cut to be smug.

Mostly bastardizations of distros you can already get, without the bloatware (i.e. Debian, Arch).

Spoiler:
I still recommend Debian.
