Opinion about.. Teachers allowed to bring guns to school. #1
A new law that the South Dakota Governor has signed allows teachers to bring firearms into the classroom of students from pre-school to college.

How do you feel about that?

I think it is good for teachers to bring guns into school. But all teachers have to submit to have/carry a gun in school and have to go though a multi test for mental and safe stability, and have to go through a gun safety test.
Grazie ora levati dal cazzo.

I think this is exactly what we need. As long as teachers are given background checks, and multiple tests and pass all of them, bringing a gun should be encouraged.

The way I see it, schools should make a system of some kind that connects a box / container to the computer, and inside that container would be the teachers school gun. Not a personal gun, and the container can only be opened from the computer its connected to which would be at the office, administration, etc.

That way, teachers are tested to see if they are able to have a gun at work to begin with, then on top of that,. they can only access it when granted permission.

This would rather defeat the purpose.

I'm against it. A teacher being aggressive to a shooter makes the shooter more likely to just spray the entire classroom, resulting in more deaths. Not to mention the hazard of having anything dangerous around children. Accidents happen.

^ Woot is correct in some scenarios. If this becomes widely accepted, shooters will end up carrying extremely heavy weapons and ammunition and shoot on sight AND killing all the teachers as well, and then stealing the guns.

It wouldn't defeat the purpose. If a shooter came into a school, the office finds out, it's not like it's some secretive thing that nobody knows unless they're the ones being shot at. The office unlocks the containers, and let's the teachers get get guns.

Nobody said they have to be aggressive, the school guns are for protection if necessary. You're not going to go up to the shooter and be like WHUBITCH WANNA GO ILL TAKE YO ASS OUT.

It's in a box, which you can't get into without the administration allowing you to. What can be hazards are from that?

And if the power is cut, what then? All signals can be disrupted, you should know that as a hacker.

Shooting at someone tends to be perceived as aggressive.

As I said, for obvious reasons you can't have the system you outlined in place.

Power cuts. "What if the office finds out", yeye, every school is now poor of hiring people to watch cams all day and stupid computers that might get a BSOD any time. Great logic, and a waste of money. Guns aren't the solution. Just like fighting fire with fire isn't smart. If your house is on fire, you don't get your lighter out, do you?

And tell me, how often is it that the power will go out? Not to mention generators schools can more than easily have.
"You should know that as a hacker" You don't know what I know. Don't act like you do.

So name me these reasons as I've been saying fixes to everything you've said that should be disapproving my idea of the containers.

UIltimatium, the office already finds out, they don't have to hire new people are anything like that. Not that schools have security guards already looking through cameras anyways?
Who ever said the computer had to run Windows? A product could be made specifically for my idea, although I do understand that it still get get something like the BSOD, what are the odds that it happens exactly when a shooter is going into the school. A tech could be called in quicker.

You're trying to compare two different situations. Doesn't work like that.

I think it's a good idea, but what happens if a child was to get ahold of those guns? tut tut.

I would understand if the guns where heavy, automatic guns with RUBBER bullets. Lets say a shooter comes in the room, and you (the teacher) spray the guy with rubber bullets. He's going to go down unconcious and thats it. This way, kids can't kill themselves (only knock themselves unconcious) and the school would still be safe.
