My hypothetical is more realistic than yours, which is contingent on A) a well trained administrator B) Communications not being disrupted(lol) and C) The administrator being alive, all to even have access to a gun.

Honestly, I don't think it's a bad idea. Declaring a school a gun-free zone sounds much much worse, since it's practically the same as putting a target on them. Several states are passing legislation allowing college students (with concealed-carry licenses) to carry weapons on campus. It's rarely the people with the concealed-carry licenses that commit mass-murder, so this legislature is a step in the right direction.

So, you do have unlocked weapons on campus, going back to my previous point about children and guns.

Which are in the office, in places where children are not allowed to be at. Plus, no gun would be left unattended.

I belive that "the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun". I also believe that having every citizen be armed is a way to ensure peace and saftey, ass well as keeping the gvernemnt in line. There are limits, however. I do not believe that minors should have the same gun rights as adults, and that people with mental issues need to be denied access to firearms. Arming teachers was seen as a reaction to the Sandy Hook shooting. If I was in a classroom with an armed teacher, I think that 1. The teacher shoud not be forced to be armed. 2. They should have gone through an extensive background check, as well as a mental eveluation. 3. They should have gone through both handeling and marksmanship training, as well as provided a way to secure the gun from students. Thats my two cents.
Pay respects to the malformed SYN packet.

The current security system in public schools is shit!
You hear the alarm, run in the corner or closet, and hope for the best. The door is locked, but any 120 pound kid can break through them. Its stupid, and everyone will die.
Guns for teachers would be better. They can all run into the corner, the teacher gets the gun and goes in front of them.
