It is my hobby, kinda difficult to me to keep it. But somehow it generates me money from time to time.

Going into school for computer science in a few days, but already worked a software development job. Probably will stick with that as my career and work on open source projects for a hobby/reputation.

A plethora of my frolic, creative choices would be taken away from me if I culled coding as a career, therefore I do it as a hobby.

For me it started as a hobby, then became part of the job. Now I just outsource and do stuff when I want to, rather than when I'm paid to.

i worked in the "industry" for about 7 years, its not for me. i sell my software on places like codecanyon. once you have a couple pieces of software that start doing well, support and updates take up your time.
but the short answer, both.

For me it is both.
Coding has been an obsession since my childhood days and it is the foundation of who I am now. Coding has also saved my life from being homeless when I ran away from home and had nothing to eat.

Started as a hobby since I was 10, then my coding skills improved. Now, it's my part time job and saved me in the lockdown.
