I've yet to attend a single minute of schooling In any facet of IT.

I've been on a PC since I was five years old and have no formal training either. I'm kind of disappointed because a business opportunity where I could get some real funding, well, they want a minimum of A+ and Sec+, so I'm being forced to shotgun these courses they gave me and bow down to capitalism. These tests are like explaining the most basic concepts to a 6th grader. I'm disappointed that this stuff is what I have to do in order to do what I love for a living.

I fully understand your position.

Irrespective of knowledge, most organizations prefer a piece of paper with an authorized signature and stamp of approval. By no means does that define the user's competency In It's entirety. When you've been passionately, dedicatedly and effectively spending a minimum of 12 hours a day exhausting every possible avenue In computing within your capacity, that speaks for Itself.

For me its both. I do it for living and i do it in my free time to code things that could bring money. I hope i can finance my other hobbys with it so that iam not only dependent on my job.

I code for fun, kind of. I really don't know what to do professionally, so all my coding projects have been out of necessity or fun.

I know a bit of java, have experience in JavaScript and done several Ahk scripts that I use daily for games and productivity.

Edit: Damn, I just realized how shitty my profile looks, I better change it

It's my career.
Why I chose this path I don't know, but I absolutely love coding everyday.

For myself, it's just a hobby. I thought about getting into it as a career, but I found out later how stressful it can be at times. I'm good at problem-solving, but I can't imagine having to do it from 9 to 5. And depending on what field you're in, you could get a call at 3:00 AM to fix a bug.
