I don't really think IRC is the best option though. There isn't really a standard way to send images, aside from just sending imgur links.

Discord has been banning servers they don't like or think are related to "blackhat activity" for a while now . Mattermost seems like a viable alternative.

I haven't had an In depth look Into their terms, but Mattermost seem to be a little more flexible than Discord. There's no mention of hacking-related content and the like, that would otherwise violate their terms of use.

Pertaining to your comment on Discord, we strictly disallow all forms of blackhat discussion and activity so unless It was generated on the server unbeknownst to us, It wouldn't be the reason for the account closure.

Maybe try XMPP? You can host your own server, so there is no worries about somebody banning it.

Provided the servers can accommodate It without any negative Impact, It would be beneficial, yes?

Rocketchat is free and open source, if you are looking for a self hosted alternative might be worth checking out.
