You have no evidence to support that statement. cancer is a complex system and even if its never been definitively proven, there has in fact been studies that link weed to cancer. 1 study showed men under the age of 30 with Testicular Cancer were twice as likely to be regular pot smokers.

Not to mention that the same tar thats in cigarettes, long believed to be a cause of cancer, is also heavily present in weed.

But really, do you want to play russian roulette based on someone elses observations? it doesnt take a genius to figure out are bodies are not designed to consume carbon particles with other chemicals. it may or may not cause cancer specifically, but its not healthy.

Once again i don't want to attack your opinion, you have the right to have it and i totally respect that. However i think some of your views are flawed. I don't think that is your own fault but because of everything people have told you.

Em, you're posting links on articles that require some time to read, and not everyone wants to spend that time studying about weed, it would be helpful if you quoted important parts.

None of that contradicts my opinion or statements? All that has to do is with its properties of pain relief which i already acknowledged somewhere way up above.

But the fact that it has pain relief properties does not make it healthy. There are lots of drugs with adverse affects. You know why you eat some medication with food? so it doesnt burn a hole in your stomach lining.

I would challenge you to name a single positive thing regular weed use would do to an average 13 year old primary school student. Would he become smarter? faster? stronger? stay the same? or face potential medical issues later on in life with extended use?

I think you misunderstand my opinion, I'm not 13. I don't recommend smoking weed to a 13 year old still developing. I do recommend vaporizers to people of at least 21. Vaps are different than just smoke. Let's be honest inhaling smoke can in no way be good for you, however if used with a vaporizer, medical marijuana actually stimulates brain cell growth as shown here .

Quote:A study at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada proves that Marijuana actually stimulates brain cell growth.

THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) stimulates cell growth in regions of the brain associated with anxiety and depression, pointing the way for new treatments for these diseases, according to University of Saskatchewan medical research published today in The Journal of Clinical Investigation.

Xia Zhang, an associate professor in the U of S neuropsychiatry research unit, led the team that tested the effects of THC, the compound responsible for the high experienced by recreational users.

Also good debate guys, keep it up, im enjoying this.

As I said earlier I'm against smoking weed on a regular basis but it still can be used to help treat cancer or anxiety.

If however it is proved that it doesn't cause cancer it will still remain harmful for the body, in the end it's not really worth it.

There is evidence to suggest that it may cause cancer. Whether that is definitively proven will be years away. Unless im mistaken we dont know what specifically causes cancer, we can only observe what does. It took decades to definitely link smoking to cancer and that was with studies on a legal substance.

So like i said... youre playing russian roulette every time you take a drag. I wouldnt tell a 13yo to go for it. Cause I without a doubt believe it to be unhealthy for your body. Its benefits only outweigh the cost if it provides a benefit. Unless your in pain there is no real benefit.

I hope you are not comparing our medical research today of that of the 1950's. If you are able to give me any modern research done by a university that says anything negative about marijuana(not smoke from inhaling marijuana) please post here. I have yet to see evidence that it causes cancer. The initial study that found that was interesting, here is how they did it. They took monkeys, Strapped them to a smoking machine and had them breath in marijuana smoke for a few hours, inhaling much more than any smoker. Not only that but it caused a lack of oxygen to the brain. That is what caused the dead brain cells.
