which insult does REALLY hurt you? #11
Insults don't ever affect me.
But when someone insults my friends, they're dead.

All insults hurt me. But I suppose the most is when someone calls my honesty into question.

Nothing hurts me except for when someone talks about my relatives (cousins, parents, uncles, aunts, etc...). That's just a line for me and I don't want people to cross that line. It pisses me off.

Honestly it depends on who's saying it. If a person I don't even know makes some kind racial remark against me and I've never talked to them in my life, I would take it offensively. Maybe if it were obvious they were kidding, I wouldn't take it as harshly, but it'd still hurt.

I just hate it when people talk about my family and when they make remarks about kids with physical and mental disabilities.

Infact I don't like it when people use the terms rape, slut, whore, gay, lesbo, faggot because it is rather more of an insult than as a joke they happen to come up with.

Sometimes I politely ask people not to use those terms, but they continue to do so anyway. I still end up being disappointed whenever I hear these slurs because there are thousands of people around the world who have experienced from the meaning of those exact terms.

Imagine you are talking to a friend or stranger and you say something along the lines of, "Oh man I cannot stop raping the replay button from this music video," and you didn't happen to know that the person you were talking to was a victim of rape? Now can you see my point?

My mum and my sister sometimes use the term gay when they describe something that they see as stupid or ugly which hurts me a bit because they are thousands of other words they could use such as 'horrendous', 'hideous', etc. They already know that I like girls and I've told them a few times to refrain using the term but it's no use.

I just wish people would think before they say something without using those words for a joke.

Bloody hell. Where's the thanks button when you need one. < 3

Seriously, this, this all over again. And same goes with "crazy" or "retarded" - although the ones above are probably worse.

Insults don't have to be uttered. Sometimes they come in the form of actions. I personally do not like insults or insulting and I avoid them as much as possible.

Honestly I encourage people to make fun of my sexuality, race etc. For me if you make something into a joke it gets extremely watered down from what it used to mean. The word faggot used to piss me off because of how ignorant I thought it was that people would just call someone a name like that because of the background of it, then I just decided to accept the fact that it's just a word that people will use in a negative way whether I liked it or not.

I know that the whole 'a word is just a word' card is bullshit because I still fucking hate when kids call other kids ugly, I can go on and on about how much that word can lower someone's self esteem. When people use the word ugly to describe someone I want to punch a kitten, shit gets me heated.

One of my friend's friends came with us to my house and we were just sitting there all talking and I made a small reference to a rape joke. I didn't know that he was raped and he gave me a lecture about how it isn't funny so I know whenever he's around to refrain from even bringing up the topic of rape. I don't really watch what I say when I'm around my close friends because I'd like to think they would realise no matter how horrible anything I say I never genuinely want to hurt their feelings.
