Both.

For one, immortality gives you the ability do do whatever you want in your lifetime.
But, what're you going to do when all of your family dies and possibly the human race ends?

I would love to be immortal. I can understand not wanting to see your family die, but it's going to probably happen even while you're alive. You can adventure your entire life and not have to worry about the dangers of getting killed in some remote African country because you're invincible.

If I were immortal with an un-aging body, I'd just use my newlygain time to watch all the manga and animes that come out trough the centuries Biggrin
I'm a lazy bum and that won't ever change, although being immortal also means you can pretty much large scale projects on your own and still reap the fruits of your effort. Furthermore I'd personally rather see how society advances technologically and as humans themselves, will they wage war or accept peace?

Also if they don't make Virtual Reality SAO style a thing during my lifetime I might have to murder some people.
