RE: Why teenagers should try staying secure online #31
I think another thing is peer pressure, Most teenagers want to be in a "COOL group". Which then forces them to do stupid crap. I'm not sure if this one was, But maybe since she was chatting with her friends and random people, She might have just tried looking good or cool infront of her mates.

I personally think that if they're going to be taught these things, it has to be at a young age. University is too late.

The programs aren't a bad idea, I'll give you that. Though, there is one major fault; students have to actually want to learn about information security, but sadly, most don't care enough about it to actually take the time out of their lives to learn from said programs.

Are you by chance speaking of Amanda Todd? If so, I think she was just a bit sleezy as a person. It's known that she did the flashing and cam-sex regularly with different people, and she was just 15! She even slept and flirted with a guy who she KNEW had a girlfriend. Don't bite my head off here, but people like this have it coming for them. Running around the Internet doing that stuff thinking it's all fun and games... No, just no. I have a very small amount of sympathy for her and anyone like her.

My apologies if this sounds a bit cruel. It's just my honest opinion.

Wow lol, I didn't know she actually slept around and done crap like that, Jeez I guess so, she did have it coming. No respect for themselves they would 100% have it coming their way, at the end of the day, she got it hard. "No Offence" but even when she passed away, People still have no respect for her, And this stupidity is the cause. So anyone out there doing the same thing, aha Good luck in life and in the long run.

Also, Even if she didn't kill herself, When you go apply for a job whats the first thing they will see...... Think about it

@CurlyPwn, the hype about her would have calmed down by now, and never would have blown up in the first place, if she didn't kill herself. I personally think that all she had to do to deal with it is get off the Internet, and don't acknowledge any attempts made by said cyber attacker. I'm sure he'd stop if he never got a reaction out of her in the first place. If I were the stalker, I would have given up the minute she didn't respond to me/give me a reaction. She obviously kept giving this person reactions when she probably shouldn't have.

Long story short, Amanda Todd could have potentially prevented all this from happening even though she was doing bad things.

@Maxx, True. Cause the attacker would have never brought it up, Unless attention was given to it, And when anyone gets attention, What do they want more, is more attention.
