RE: What is a defining point in your life #11
Hmm.... Here are a few I guess, I haven't really had enough of a life to have many

When my parents got divorced - Left me pretty unstable for a while
4th grade - I had this insane teacher who wanted me to write like a 10 page essay or something. It was so stressful that I pretty much gave up on school, failing most of my classes until high school
When I switched schools (in middle school) - Actually had people that I was actually kinda friends with
When I joined SL - Learning accelerated around that time, and met people like @phyrrus9 (before SL, the internet was purely an information source for me)

Given It was around 25 years ago, I don't remember specifics during the early stages but can say It's been (and still Is) an Incredible experience.

One month until 25 years in front of a screen. "Yeah, ma, sure that 386 will still work when I'm in college... Now leave me to harness the power of my 2x CD-ROM." Might be meshing details from slightly differing time periods, but 25 years is a while...

Seems we both have similar years of computing.

For nostalgic purposes, I wish I kept my 386. I would've loved to see It In action once again.

How long has SI been online? Or is this the moment I suddenly feel like the oldest person on the internet?

6 years. Trust me, you're not the oldest person on the internet, or even the oldest here. I'm pretty sure we have one member well into his 60s

I sometimes think a LOT of people on SI are unfriendly, until the moment I realize most members are moody teens. No ageism; I have fun and interesting topics are spoken of, but there is sometimes an air of hormone-inity about.
Could also be I'm overly "Hai Guyzzz!!!" but after a certain sarcasm threshold is reached, a man's lack of sarcasm must be overpowering and hopefully make people slightly cringey.

When I was 17 I made a handshake deal that reserved office space until my 18th birthday when I signed the lease and opened my business.

And, ending with probably the smallest one, when I started taking antidepressants - No more depression yay, now I can focus on stuff and not be thinking about dying whew

This almost sounds like my life in a hole.
