That's insane! Why weren't you wearing a gumshield? They're so cheap and easy to use..

gumshields dont actually protect your teeth by the way they stop you getting concussed mainly

They also stop you from biting your tongue/cheeks. It was drilled into me to wear mine when I started kickboxing xD

I'm usually pretty prompt when It comes to personal heath, so every 6 months (sometimes a little longer) I visit my dentist for a full checkup. Upon yesterday's visit, he said my gums are perfect with no signs of gingivitis nor any other form of gum disease. Good news there. Much to my surprise, he did find a very small cavity In one tooth which was filled there and then, and the rest of my teeth are perfect.

So who visits their dentist on a regular basis? If not, (why?) and how long has It been since your last examination?

Recently I visited a dentist after 8 years of not seeing one as I didn't have coverage until now. I only brush my teeth once a day and even then sometimes forget. I only had a few cavities, slightly chipped front teeth from bruxism and that's about it. I do not eat sugar or junk food and I chew gum all day so that dramatically slowed down the damage.
Since I now have coverage, I will be seeing a dentist every year.
Guess the best part. I never had wisdom teeth.

Damn, no wisdom teeth? Lucky. I personally take great care of my teeth and I go to the dentist every 4 years or so. Never had anything go wrong so far

I did it many years ago! It was brilliant. I'd love to start it up again... But to go back on topic - Always wear a gum-shield peeps! xD

I don't have Issues with my teeth, they're In perfect health (apart from the recent chip).

I like to make sure they remain that way with regular visits to my dentist.

I'm very tolerant to pain and don't fear too much with medical procedures, but I'm very frightened of dentists.

I know right? I used to be so worried about them popping out anytime while I was living off scraps and had no money. Now I'm 29 and they still didn't come so finally I know for a fact that I just don't have them. It's so relieving.
Despite me getting away with being irresponsible with my dental health, I don't recommend it. Brush your teeth 3 times a day, kids.
