Wrong we are not paying our bills. We are getting more bills since the money we are borrowing to pay for everything (SSI, war , obama-care)will need to be payed back. Obviously you know nothing about american finance or debt. Let me explain. Compare the government to a person. The GDP is our income and all the agencies inside the government are the children you are supporting. Your income is not enough to support all of them so you get a line of credit to pay back a later time assuming you will be making more. You give yourself a limit(debt ceiling) on how much you will borrow. But now you have a a toddler(wars) and an infant(obama-care )which will cost you more with out bringing in any new income. So instead of cutting back and creating a balanced budget you will need more credit going over your limit. The kids are not bills, they can wait to be paid(the shut down is proof) and managed better. The bills are the people you owe money too. The only difference is when the government defaults the assets won't get seized. Instead they will pay back the dollar amount but inflate the worth of the dollar in order to print the money to pay back the loan (Research the Zimbabwe example i talked about earlier or learn how currency works). The reason they do this is to 1 to have enough money to pay them back and 2 making the money worth less so that the loan holder cant buy everything in america. Do you understand now. Social security is not a bill since they can stop collecting social security at any time and just pay the people back who put in to it. The people of this country retired comfortably for 200 years before government started SSI. And they didn't have 401ks. Now people can collect for 40 years if they are injured, while not even paying into the system for 20 years. Obama care is not a bill. It is a new addition to the family who are already living beyond there means. I would love to here what other bills you think we are paying. The only real bill we have is our debt to other countries. And when you get on your own I would like to see how paying your bills with debt works out. Your better off sending a check to the gas company with the light companies name on it. You will by yourself enough time to pay the bill with money that is yours, not borrowed money. Do you understand this. Your not paying a bill, your trading one bill for another bill.

1. We will spend as much on Obama-care as nasa(5-10 million dollars.) If you want to afford health there shut down nasa. I believe in a balanced budget.

2. It doesn't matter what the debtors know. The US goverment owes the debtor(blank) so many X amount of dollars. IF the government just prints the money to pay there bills they will have to make the3 dollar worth less because a goverment could just buy up all the vacant properties in indiana and just about own the state. And they inflate the dollar every year. Thats why people with ssi recieve a raise every year. You don't understand the goverment gives money value because it is backed. The actually paper serves no purpose other than what the government controls.

3. There is no Amendment that gives the right to SSI. I mean come on . I mean come on SSI is the biggest ponsey scheme ever. And I am quoting Bernie Maydalf the greatest ponsey schemer ever. He would know a ponsey scheme when he know s one.

NASA has been significantly cut, but that's beside the point. To the government, 10mil isn't a lot.

You've roughly 300 million people, and your average income per person is around 50k/year. To take in another 10mil, you would need to raise taxes less than 1/100th of a percent.

That would be how it works for the debt we owe in USD, but a lot of international transactions deal with gold. We can't "print" more gold.

People do not have the right to SSI, you're correct. The problem is, the contract, if you will, is that I pay into this system with payroll tax, and I get back money to help me live when I retire. The US Government cannot break this contract, unless they want a class action for billions of dollars( money donated + interest )
