What is Truecrypt?
True Crypt is a Free open-source disk encryption software for Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Main Features:
Creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk.
Encrypts an entire partition or storage device such as USB flash drive or hard drive.
Encrypts a partition or drive where Windows is installed (pre-boot authentication).
Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent.
Parallelization and pipelining allow data to be read and written as fast as if the drive was not encrypted.
Encryption can be hardware-accelerated on modern processors.
Provides plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password:
Hidden volume (steganography) and hidden operating system.
Why Do I Want To Use Truecrypt?
If the police were ever to take your computer you would not want them seeing the illegal stuff on your computer would you?

Creating A Truecrypt Volume
Now click create volume: http://screensnapr.com/v/V2wCez.jpg
Choose if you want to encrypt your whole computer of just a file folder. A file folder is what it sounds like. You can mount it and drop files into it. We will talk about this more later.
For this tut we are just going to make a file folder.

Click next, now choose what kind of encryption you want to use. I just use the default, is AES and standard hash encryption.

next, choose the volume size. The bigger the longer it will take to encrypt. This will be the size of the encrypted file.

After you choose how big you want is click next:
This is where you enter your password; make is long and with different letter types. Make sure you remember this password as there is no way of recovering it. Also make sure the password is very long. Some thing like this:
