Quote:Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have announced a deal with the web video service Amazon Prime, which has fended off competition from TV companies on both sides of the Atlantic to sign the former Top Gear trio. Work will begin next year on their new car show, which will go up against a revamped version of the BBC show, hosted by Chris Evans.
News of the deal comes after months of speculation about the former Top Gear presenters' next move. ITV and Sky had been touted as possible new homes for the team's next show, as had two of Amazon's online rivals, Netflix and Hulu.
"Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are reuniting to create an all-new car show," Amazon said in a statement. "The show will be produced by the trio's long time executive producer Andy Wilman."
