One of my real life friends had a job interview today and they asked him a question about something like what he struggles the most with, and he turns around and says to the people interviewing them - "Waking up in the morning."
Derp.
That is the worse answer to give them if you get asked a question like that.

Well, I guess it depends on his job description.
Like if he started in the after-noon that wouldn't be terrible.
Obviously, that's still a terrible answer.
It would be worse if he said "showing up to work."
"Fuck Batman and Robin. I'm robbin with a bat, man."

I think we all have that problem, but to say it in an interview shows that you don't have drive.
Not smart.

Not as bad as my friend who got the job nailed the interview and then forgot that the day was Friday and missed orientation

That's just being a outright idiot and as you said, it is indeed his fault that he didn't get the job.

For professional jobs, yes, this may not be an acceptable answer and the interviewer will immediately turn you away. I wouldn't say things like this anyway during an interview.
