I wouldn't be surprised if AMD were looking to cash in on Nvidia's misfortune, albeit with the guidance of their legal team. There's plenty of ways they can inspect Nvidia's technology and continue to develop their own within the constrains of the law. DLSS/LHR are some of the technologies that had source taken.
AMD could theoretically surpass Nvidia in bleeding edge technology even without Nvidia's source code, they just arent a matured enough company (in my opinion) and have 2 sides to fight with which is Intel and Nvidia (in the graphics card and cpu industry) and could possibly cause a bit of restraints with development
Right now they are competing pretty hard with Intel on CPUs, but I can't see them beating Nvidia anywhere in the near future. With the leaks about Ampere, I don't even think the 6900XT will be mentioned. Nvidia typically has better partnerships with game developers as well.
