Agreed. If I don't use electronics, Jiggly won't get here for Christmas. Tongue

This doesn't seem like a good idea. Technology is part of the "real world" whether you like it or not.

That one of the reasons I want to get away.
Business - Do the daily chores and run errands, not phone calls.
Work - Take a nice walk to work, taking in the scenary.
Girlfriend - You'll be forced to spend a lot of real time with her, and have true intimate moments.

Whenever I talk to people who hardly use the Internet and minimise the amount of technology they interact with, they're the most down to earth and happy people.

When I talk to people who have an ongoing 'addiction' like relationship with the Internet and technology, where they don't experience the real world fully. They're a lot less stressed out and sad.

Just my view on it.

Thanks. I just feel it's something to be done. Whether it opens up my eyes to the World, or conjures a hate for it. It's just something I feel I've summoned myself a need to do.

OP was in fact, banned. /404/syke.html
But I don't mind if I can't do it, but I'll still force myself to make a month.

Even this supports my argument. You started off meeting and enveloping a relationship on the Internet, but there's only so much you can develop over pixels and bits.

So you're taking to the next, 'real', level. You're meeting her in person. So you can sense the emotion that she doesn't type, and you can act in pure impulse of the moment, something you can't deduce from text is true emotion and impulse. (unless you've studied the female's online, which you then really need to go outside.)

I understand I'm taking this to the extreme by banning myself from interacting with technology, but let me ask you something. Would you prefer to text your partner? Or would you prefer to be 10 inches away from them, being able to sense things and have feeling you can't get from text? I know I'd want to be there with them, which is what I'm trying to enforce.

Wise choice, there are lots of articles around on Internet and technology addiction; we're Reading one in class right now, It's more common than one might imagine.

I'd say I had a mild addiction. But I'm a person who can easily fight addiction. I didn't go on my computer for a day, forgot about it, didn't go back on it for another 5 days. But I always crawl back.
