Scan the whole network for a router. Or check where your traffic is going with wireshark.
Try:
nmap -T5 -A 192.168.0.1/24
or
nmap -T5 -A 192.168.0.1/24
if you don't have nmap download here:
http://nmap.org/download.html

I've tried all the ipod addresses in ipconfig they either dont load or bring me to an avg search page. All the info I've seen using Google says you need a wired connection so Im not sure if that's the issue.

first of all be sure about the ROUTER's IP (gateway).you can use ipconfig/all or nmap or ather network tool to confirm. then try to access the router . sometimes antivirus may cause the problem.check it carefully. I hope you can find the way. ![Smile Smile](https://sinister.ly/images/smilies/set/smile.png)
