If you're under 30 and looking for a sim only contract have a look at Voxi, its a branch off from Vodafone though the deals are great. Just checked they now have phone deals swell which are worth looking in to!

i got 30gb on my contract with 3. paying 30 quid a month. also got 100 quid cash back which is cool so total cost of ownership is 700 for 2 yr contract.

A 30 or 60 day top up? I've not heard of that. I've always done bundle deals since they became a thing. You also rarely have to buy a phone outright these days. Most companies are offering payment plans to pay off phones.

Here's an example: Giffgaff can let you get an iPhone 7, 32GB (any colour in stock), and pay 21 pounds a month for 2 years (keep in mind, that's just payment for the phone, you can choose to go to another network anytime as long as you continue to pay for the phone/pay all of it off), then anywhere from 5-25 pounds depending on what you want for data etc. AKA Less than 30 pounds a month for an iPhone 7 and you're not prevented from swapping to another network.

Oh right you can do that also, but in ireland its much more common to buy a phone outright then you can choose a top up deal depending on the carrier, like mine I could top up as little as a fiver or as much as 30 and get 2 weeks unlimited calls and texts with however much data for a fiver and with say 30 euro I could get 30 days unlimited calls, texts and 15gb data, but the plans are always changing and some carriers do better deals of course.

That's almost the same as what I said xD I just added that carriers are starting to offer payment plans for those who can't afford to buy a phone outright. It almost makes contracts pointless. Nearly all carrier top up deals/bundle deals are a month long so far as I've come across in England.

I thought it was crazy how common it is for people to have phone contracts or getting shit for finance in England , you can't get finance on anything like bikes, computers etc, in Ireland the only people that would really get a contract out would be for a business phone.

Well, it's credit cards, not defaulting on credit cards You have to pay your credit card bills on time. It shows you can consistently meet your payments over long periods of time.
