Man Buys Two Metric Tons of LEGO Bricks; Sorts Them Via Machine Learning #1

So... A guy accidentally bought a bunch of legos, so he sorted them using machine learning.

This is kinda interesting, but also a huge waste of time.

Huge waste of time, I do agree.

Personally I have always been interested into deep/machine learning. I do believe that if you train/build a system well enough it could save a shit load of time IRL applications/processes.
When I have some more stacks, I'm definitly going to try and build a deep learning machine, they're not even that expensive. I wouldn't know what to do with it, but I'm sure there are tons of stuff you could use it for.

This is realy cool!
And I wouldn't say it's a waste of time. You do these projects because you can and I think this did benefit for him because now he has the knowlage of building this type of project.

True, but there is better machine learning projects.

Time is money, and it sounds like he'll be getting just that. Biggrin

Well it depends on how much time he exactly spend on the matter. If it took him months to build the machine. Than a few more weeks to learn the coding, than he still has to sort... if there weren't many "rare" lego blocks I think he didn't make such a big profit.

Though only a small markup would be nice already.
