Man Buys Two Metric Tons of LEGO Bricks; Sorts Them Via Machine Learning - Blink - 06-05-2017 http://mentalfloss.com/article/501060/man-buys-two-metric-tons-lego-bricks-sorts-them-machine-learning So... A guy accidentally bought a bunch of legos, so he sorted them using machine learning. This is kinda interesting, but also a huge waste of time. RE: Man Buys Two Metric Tons of LEGO Bricks; Sorts Them Via Machine Learning - Bish0pQ - 06-06-2017 Huge waste of time, I do agree. Personally I have always been interested into deep/machine learning. I do believe that if you train/build a system well enough it could save a shit load of time IRL applications/processes. When I have some more stacks, I'm definitly going to try and build a deep learning machine, they're not even that expensive. I wouldn't know what to do with it, but I'm sure there are tons of stuff you could use it for. RE: Man Buys Two Metric Tons of LEGO Bricks; Sorts Them Via Machine Learning - Pikami - 06-06-2017 This is realy cool! And I wouldn't say it's a waste of time. You do these projects because you can and I think this did benefit for him because now he has the knowlage of building this type of project. Time is money, and it sounds like he'll be getting just that. ![]() RE: Man Buys Two Metric Tons of LEGO Bricks; Sorts Them Via Machine Learning - Bish0pQ - 06-06-2017 (06-06-2017, 06:42 PM)Oni Wrote:(06-06-2017, 08:37 AM)Bish0pQ Wrote: Huge waste of time, I do agree. Well it depends on how much time he exactly spend on the matter. If it took him months to build the machine. Than a few more weeks to learn the coding, than he still has to sort... if there weren't many "rare" lego blocks I think he didn't make such a big profit. Though only a small markup would be nice already. |
