Open vs Closed Office 10-22-2017, 04:44 AM

For those of you working in one of them, what do you think of it? For those of you with no experience in either, what environment are you hoping for?
I work in an open office which tends to be the inferior choice for most people in the industry, as seclusion and lack of social skills tend to push most people toward their comfort zone involving their own space. My positives so far is that it's very easy to communicate. If I have a question, I can get instant feedback and it seems people are more likely to ask for help rather than waste hours of their own because they feel intrusive disturbing someone in their space. I also get a better relationship with coworkers. I'm fortunate enough to work around people who I genuinely enjoy and it gives more opportunities to get to know each other and really learn each other's personalities.
A downside is obviously distractions. Generally everyone brings in headphones and will have those on when not wanting to be bothered or need to focus. Most everyone is considerate with their conversations, though.
I feel like the quality of previous coworkers strongly sway people's opinions on what they prefer.
