That's pretty much what I'd do as well; though try breaking it back with caution not to cause any more damage ^^
Depressive, but almost true. You could carry some sort of snake bite serum, and make sure to tourniquet the bitten extremity ^^

Snake bite anti-venom is not available to buy at least not around here. In the USA there is actually a shortage there was a few cases where my state Kentucky had to fly anti-venom to South Carolina and Virginia because those states were out and patients were going to die without it.

Here we have copperheads, cottonmouths, timber rattler, pygmy rattler, and there may be a few others all which are venomous.
