RE: Importance Of Maths. #11
I hate maths, but thats mainly because of the way its taught. I find it really, really repetitive, doing question after question from textbooks because we supposedly need to, despite the fact that I learn it within the first couple of questions. Its rather frustrating. I do realise how important it is though.

Personally I have a feeling that Math is over hyped and focused in Asian countries (I'm from one btw). It does help determining a logical thinking level of a person to some extent but sometimes its just not needed. First of all it only helps into certain fields like someone above said "Computing". Even in computing its dependant what technology you are using. I could care less about High level Calculus when I'm developing an Android Application unless i'm involved in some type of hardware addressing.

This statement is so untrue, biased and narrow minded that I could just puke right now. Which is exactly why I hate the education system in my country. It basically makes students into believing, "if you are not good at Math you fail at life". I have been a math failure pretty much since my teenage years. I'm still considered one of most intellectual programmers in my department.

I am totally agree with you. Certain two facts on this post unequivocally the best we have all had. You are 100% good here that it only helps into certain fields like someone above said "Computing". Even in computing its dependant what technology you are using.

I agree with this very much, thank you for typing this. I actually have this screenshotted and am sending this to my niece who has somehow come to the decision that she doesn't care about failing maths.

Math is the opposite of art. You can use math to give perspective to your art but that looks very artificial.
Even though there literally is "art" in "ARTificial", there isn't.
