hey man welcome!!! because of your interests in pen testing and forensics i would suggest installing backtrack 5 either as dual boot or a virtual machine, has all the necessary tools for Pen testing . can be found at http://www.backtrack-linux.org/ also youll want virtual box or vmware if you want to run a virtual machine, virtual box is my favorite and can be found here https://www.virtualbox.org/

Exploit is right, backtrack is great for pen testing.
