What did you injure and how?  I have some similar issues.  I really can't (or shouldn't really) do deadlifts because of some hip surgery that happened to me when I was younger.  I can do most of the other "big lifts," but it causes me to do a ton of isolations.

Patella tendons
Acl
Pcl
Achilles tendon
distal bicep tendon
Triceps tendon
All the ligaments in my hands
My pec tendon I forgot the name
All from over use injury
Tendonitis
Shoulders a little fucked no idea why.

Back fucked I can't sit down without pain

I was literally a 0.1% man tall as fuck 230lbs lean with abs I would solve all my problems with lifting
Everyone thought I had the perfect life and wanted to be me and treated me like shit no matter how good I treated them or what Idid

So I'd l lift 3 hours a day 7 days a week

Crazy lifts too no light shit. Heavy compound lifts hour before a left the house when I got home and before I slept all of this with shit sleep and crappie protein intake and diet. I was guaranteed to crash sadly I just crashed hard

Got injured didn't realise and then when I did I pushed myself through injuries because I had nothing else.

First off man, I have got to commend you. That is some serious dedication and discipline that I don't think I could ever pull off. It is a shame in the end that you pushed yourself to injury. Usually tendon injuries can heal over time, so at least you have that small bit working in your favor.

As for the bit on people treating you like shit, that's something I see way to much these days. Its almost like society as a culture has pivoted itself to try and take down the people that they view as in charge. To many weasels in this world trying to build social clout by putting who they view as the "alpha" down, its honestly a shame. I wish you the best.

I used to do weights until I moved to a new city a few years back, it's hard to get back in the game alone (without a training buddy or friends holding you accountable), I then found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I haven't looked back.

I turn 37 this year. As a teenager, I was an anorexic goth kid, then had a brief military stint and got into health and exercise. I worked out every day and hard. I used a curl bar mostly for 100+ reps of 100 lbs. and did squats and stuff with it. I had a defined chest, stomach and arms, and got a lot of female attention.

I spent a while traveling and then became a trucker for a while. My muscles, especially my stomach, atrophied over time. I didn't have fat on my stomach but the muscles were so relaxed that I had a little beer belly because it was round. It was from sitting all day and working overtime. I was working 24/7 for months at a time just sitting.

So I stopped a few years ago. I found out about emsculpting and bought some treatments. I then found out I could just buy my own emsculpting machine really cheap (less than $1000) so I did. My stomach is still rock hard from using it last year. I used it every day for months at a time.

Now my job is at a warehouse and I walk 10+ miles EVERY DAY. I feel good and pretty healthy. I am not as athletic as I was 15 years ago but I'm not using weights. I do feel good, though, and eat a lot healthier than back then.

I like to exercise but hate the gym bc of social anxiety and just the general time sink of being there. I have a room set up at home with basic workout equipment. Power cage and 6ft bar for squats and BP, a yoga mat and mirror, some dumbbells, etc. Works great. To avoid injuries I highly recommend starting with bodyweight routine and gradually getting into lifting. You can get a free apk of fitify app and it is awesome. Also on reddit you can find a complete list of the KneesOverToesGuy bodyweight program to prefab your joints and protect against injuries. Most joint injuries it is better to focus on PT rather than surgery.

Yes. After a while, it just becomes a part of your identity and who you are, so it becomes a lot more enjoyable and hard to quit.
