I got hooked by a browser exploitkit the other day what a pain in the ass. Ads gallore on every tab :/ and a scam browser addon to boot....

Best way of being clean is having a regular AV, I use free avast, pretty decent for a free software, I mainly use it so I don't get infected on most of web exploits, don't trust .exe, don't accept suspicious files and format your computer frequently or when you suspect of computer slowness or something out of common...
Never got scammed or badly infected doing this...

I use mcafee for antivirus protection it's actually quite good. That's is just my opinion and it varies because it matters where your from to.

Kaspersky is still the most annoying of the widely available AVs, as its heuristics aren't complete shit.

I use 'Avast!' and I know it's not the best. And is annoying as fuck.
But I'm lazy and use my brain as the majority of my anti-virus.
