I think this would be great. Sometimes we have a lot of scams then other times there aren't scams for months. It would be good to have a centralized thread to keep up with the information.
Also username changes etc could be added if you see the same user is scamming on other websites/forums.

should be common sense, however most users do not take the necessary precautions., solution for this problem is forcing users into reading the rules ( at the registration process),
and to make the actual sells section only available to VIPS (paying for the privilege of selling their products), that i think will help the community minimize the risks of scams and similar incidents,

I kinda misunderstood your original post, but we're not forcing users to read anything, this is something that someone might see when they click on The Lounge. Also, I really don't understand how this isn't a "practical approach"...?

I'll give you an example, a user scams someone, staff members react to the incident, the (scammer) is banned, but after awhile he gets a new IP address new name and starts scamming  members again, then he is banned, again,
When a legit merchant. however. decides to use SL as selling platform for his products or and services, he would be willing to pay to do so, but a scammer wouldn't, because every time he has to pay (determined amount per a month or a year) to start the scamming process all over again, that means the loses are more than but not equal to gains,

Not that it's a perfect solution, but oftentimes sellers will upgrade their account to use the Premium Sales section. At the very least, you know that threads in the Premium Sales section are backed by a minimum of $15 or 150 posts. When they upgrade more, they have more to lose. If an upgraded member gets banned for scamming, there's less incentive for them to make a new account and scam again. As usual, people should be wary of any deals for higher ticket items/services.
