RE: Bypass and Reset Windows 7 Password #31
When I did it in an experimental VM, this proccess made the new user Administrator. When trying out with a friend on his real machine, the created user would just be standard.

Any idea of what could have caused this difference? User policies?
It's quite interesting...

Also, I've noticed that if you disable stickykeys with a random user, it will still work on the logon screen, but if you disable it on the main administrator account (That Admin acc that usually comes hidden in Win7) the shortcut seems to not work anymore.

Ok so I've tried this method but it doesn't work for me
Also when I type net users it doesn't give me any names
The admin is on a domain I found a list of other users from people in the domain. But none have access

One of the easiest methods to reset the "Local user account" password, Is via DaRT (Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset).

It does the job literally within a few minutes and hasn't failed me to date.

Ok im trying to change the administrator password on it
It's on a domain lets me change the password but the thing is it needs to connect to network but when connecting to internet it says dns check router for connectivity issues

Not sure if it still works, but one of the more interesting ways to reset even local admin passwords in windows was to gain access to NTAUTHORITY/SYSTEM account.

Wait, is this machine part of a domain? Its likely logging into a server that enforces authentication, via AD DS.

I haven't tried this for quite a while.

You've given me another task to add to my "to do list".
