Defcon is great but expensive. The people are nice and willing to teach, and really at night it just becomes a drinking convention = p People there love drinking and having fun as much as the technical stuff.

That sounds like a great time. It's nice seeing a community come together in a big event like that, even if they don't talk to each other for the rest of the year xD

Next time you get the chance, go to one. I spent a lot of time inside too (so much so I got a vitamin d deficiency living in a hot place). But, there's nothing quite like seeing or doing something you've never done before. However, it's always a bit nicer if these things are local. If not a convention, go to a fair or smaller local event.

Goodness me, I did not think the cost will be anything close to that. It may be expensive but from what I've heard, certainly worth It.

Where I reside, I'd have to account for all the above expenses and more. No doubt, It'll be worth every dime.

For me that's a giant international flight to see loved ones. Most I've ever spent is still below 100GBP. Then again, I lived within a couple hours of London before.
