Good Day. I may have disturbed you by my post. And i apologize for the disturbance i cause you. The reason of making this thread is that i have installed a backtrack 5 r3 on my other machine and what surprises me is that i got a black page every time i type the word "startx". Is there any ideas or ways on how to solve this problem in installing bt5 r3. I have tried to update my vga but still does not work at all. If you have any suggestions please post it here. And may peace be with us all. )

Something you should try:
- when screen blacks out, press CTRL+D (shouldn't do trick, but you never know);
- try installing on a different media (new disk/drive);
- try installing with a different software (LiLi gives many problems of this kind) like Universal USB Installer.

Looks more like a driver issue to me check which graphics card you are using and see if there is a compatible driver for it
