Good Day. I may have disturbed you by my post. And i apologize for the disturbance i cause you. The reason of making this thread is that i have installed a backtrack 5 r3 on my other machine and what surprises me is that i got a black page every time i type the word "startx". Is there any ideas or ways on how to solve this problem in installing bt5 r3. I have tried to update my vga but still does not work at all. If you have any suggestions please post it here. And may peace be with us all.

Something you should try:
- when screen blacks out, press CTRL+D (shouldn't do trick, but you never know);
- try installing on a different media (new disk/drive);
- try installing with a different software (LiLi gives many problems of this kind) like Universal USB Installer.

Looks more like a driver issue to me check which graphics card you are using and see if there is a compatible driver for it
