Definitely the right move. In my eyes, this would have little to no success in practice. Most freaks use Tor to gather CP, and then just store it on their PC. iPhones aren't particularly safe for those kinds of activities in the first place.

It wouldn't make a difference to me if this went through or not though. I've never owned an Apple device, and I don't plan on owning one ever. But it could inspire other companies to implement something similar on their products as well.

They are most definitely waiting for people to forget about this.

The thing is at the end of the day this is not gonna be the deciding factor for people to not buy an iphone. Most people don't really care about privacy as long as it doesn't effect them.

It will be the deciding factor for those who're security-minded, of which countless users exist - globally.

The discussions In this thread alone, speaks for Itself.

No company has the right to rummage through your private property.

I feel like, as this has been announced, anyone with enough sense will be able to make moves to transfer their data or simply change to an android. I'm not sure how effective a measure this would actually be.

Then again, if I was a parent, and I knew it would save just one kid from abuse, perhaps I'd feel differently.
