Alaska become 3rd state to legalise cannabis #1
The legalisation of weed is on the rise at the moment with Alaska now becoming the third U.S. state to fully legalise it.

The new marijuana law officially went into effect today, which means that recreational marijuana is now a legal substance in three states. Oregon is also believed to be introducing it in July.

People who live in Alaska will now be able to smoke the drug in their own homes and grow up to six plants. And if you’re pulled over for a faulty break light with a bag of the smelly in your pocket, you’re not going go get into trouble. Unless you’ve been smoking and driving, which will also probably be on the rise now the new law has passed.

Any actual consumption of the drug in public is still illegal and you’ll be handed a $100 spot fine if caught doing so.

Come July, up to five states in the USA will have legalised the drug as it becomes more and more accepted worldwide. But do you think the USA will be the only country to do so? Or will we see it over in Britain at some point?

It's funny, because legalization has been in progress for both the nation's capital and our largest state. About time for the second largest state (Texas) to follow suit.

I'm doubtful that UK will follow America's lead in pass this law. Recently, Khat (Somalia plant that is chew) became a class c drug in England so I doubt cannabis (class b drug) will become legal.

Well it went from class B -> C -> B. It could go down again, legalising small (<1G) of cannabis for personal use.

Drinking alcohol for pleasure, or parties is fine with me. Recreational cannabis smoking is also fine, but some people are just pot-heads, and they ruin themselves.

Nicotine is bad and will result in your death. GG/WP.

Just like some people are alocholics, gambling addicts, food addicts, sex addicts, porn addicts, phone addicts, etc, etc, etc, etc....

ANYTHING can become an addictive substance and cause a detrimental reaction on ones life. There are also functional heroin users in society.

The United States of America considers Marijuana to be more dangerous than Heroin, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine. Marijuana is a Schedule I drug while the others I listed are Schedule II.

In many cases Marijuana-related punishments (at the federal level) can be more harsh than that of those charged with Murder.
