[Help] Windows 10 to Windows 7 10-17-2015, 09:23 PM
#1
My computer came with Windows 8.1 from the manufacturer. I upgraded to Windows 10, and now I can no longer go back to Windows 8.1. However, I never liked Windows 8.1 (and regret upgrading to Windows 10), and am wondering: How can I delete all of Windows 10, and install a fresh, new Windows 7 (particularly for free)? A detailed, yet friendly guide would be appreciated, and an activation key would be a bonus. Thank-you.

A clean Installation Is the way to go.
Just make sure what's enabled In the Motherboard firmware. If It's UEFI-enabled and given the HDD Is of GPT partition style, you may need to disable Secure Boot and Fast Boot (If supported). You will then need to created a UEFI bootable flash drive. Furthermore, If you have a UEFI Firmware that's below "v2.0", you'll have Issues Installing Windows 7.
Alternatively, you can enable "Legacy Mode" In the Motherboard firmware/BIOS, convert the GPT to MBR partition style, and simply go through the normal Installation process of the OS.

I downgraded yesterday. It was easy. Get the W7 and the architecture of your choice and burn it onto your USB. Then boot into your BIOS and boot into the installation window. And then format your drive(s) you want W7 to be installed on and install.
Otherwise for what Mothered said about GPT, that can easily be fixed in Diskpart (Shift + F10) on installation window.
