For PS you also need a good TV to enjoy it's capabilities. Those money can be invested into a good PC that does more than gaming.
I kind of agree with this sentiment. Of course, there are some exclusive releases for the PS5, as there are with any console. However, you don't really need to purchase them straight away. I saw a ps4 in perfect condition selling for about 160 British Pounds. The depreciation is unreal, but great if you're on a budget.
Also, consoles can be handy in a house where you don't have room or a desk for a PC. There are plenty of reasons to buy consoles, but if you are able to invest in a PC, I'd argue that is the better choice.
