What are people's preferences currently? Given how Discord addressed things, I don't want to promote them any further than we already have.
Some of the newer clients apparently have embedding enabled. Not sure if that's the route we want to take.

I don't really think IRC is the best option though. There isn't really a standard way to send images, aside from just sending imgur links.
