So sad you had to go the anime route. The manga is a near masterpiece. Expect it to go downhill from here. I cant go into detail without going into spoilers, but if you have any respect for the story, continue reading in the manga.

Which novel would I start on if I'm up-to-date with the anime? I have backstory on all that's happened to far via YouTube videos (what wasn't covered in the anime between Season Two and the first season of :RE).

I will see what the current episode is, then ill give you directions. Its nice you went out of your way to learn more about the characters, that just makes the transition way easier.
