So basically I have a question what you think about this. (I know in each country the laws are different, just asking for thoughts).

A few weeks back, I was running to the bus stop, because I had only 5 minutes untill my bus would be there. Now my brother was cycling behind me (also pretty fast), when we were at the bus stop he said to me "blue" (cops). So I looked back and yes indeed there were cops driving behind me & my brother all the time. Luckily I didn't have any weed on me, neither did my brother.

We looked them straight in the eyes, but they moved on. Or so we thought. They turned pretty quickly, stopped and stepped towards us. Than out of nowhere, without asking any other questions like "why were you running" or anything like that, they just asked "ID's please". The bus was already there ATM.

So we gave the ID's, they wrote it down. When suddenly the cops says I need to give my wallet. He says: "Do you have anything illegal on you, like cannabis or something?". I replied: "No, of course not. Sir can you please hurry, we really need to get on this bus. My brother has to work and I have to go too." Than the cop replied: "Yeah sure, 1 minute". So the other cop was writing us down, and the other one was searching me (not my brother, just me). After that we stepped on the bus and they left.

I think they didn't handle it right, it was also very emberassing because my work is litterally next to the bus stop.

TL;DR; Do you think cops can ask someone's ID and search them because they are running? Maybe I was just jogging, or maybe I was just trying to catch my bus. In my opinion they did not have such right.

I know this might be pretty weird, but are you African American because if so that was probably the reason why.
