This trust has been violated by the proxy-coup staged in Ukraine which forced Russia to intervene. That shit was about to get though was already clear, but it got even worse with the rebel attack on MH-17. All things considered, I personally think that Putin is a wise leader, and perhaps one of the best of modern times along with Ahmadinejad, Yanis Varoufakis and Nelson Mandela. It is however evident that Putin really got his hands bloody(in a wrong way) by meddling with the clusterfuck that is Syria.
As for the OP. Russia is grossly overrepresented when it comes to cyberattacks. One would think that it is just the Western media on a mudslinging crusade, but I can vouch that Russia has very high activity when it comes to blackhat operations. Russia has very lax regulations when it comes to enforcing cyberlaw as long as it does not target anything with Russian interests. I find this a very hypocrite approach as the world is currently suffering due to a shitton of attacks originating from Russia, and ain't nothing be done about it.
