And I don't get how that is a horrible way to protect myself? I shutdown all my active servers as well as deleting all my logs. I don't believe there is anything else I can do other then changing my network settings. But I won't touch that. My ISP will start asking me questions. But I am good

If someone "giving you their word" that they did something to remove evidence that could potentially implicate you in federal crimes gives you the warm fuzzies, you need to stop now before you get hosed hard.
