The pain goes away, forgot to mention that. It can be sore for up to a week, maybe more if you have a low pain threshold. Then it's smooth sailing from there. The only other times you will experience pain is when you get them tightened, but the pain isn't even close to first getting them on. After tightening, the pain will only stay for 3 - 4 days max.
