I don't feel like wanting to be remembered is particularly narcissistic. That implies it's obsessive or taken too far. We have a finite existence, which is hard to accept for a self aware species like ourselves. Being remembered may be a way in which people find meaning in life. Although, I'm sure there are a few who would love to have a massive statue of themselves for Ego's sake. xD
I would just like to be remembered by my family's future generations. What for... That has yet to be decided. I'd rather stay rather anonymous otherwise. I'm not too concerned with people remembering me who aren't important to me and I am unlikely to ever hold a position of great power so I don't need to worry about people writing about me in history books no matter how I turn out.
We have a rather individualistic set of values culturally so it's interesting to see people aren't actually pushing to stand out in a crowd on here.
