I dont know if this is possible but for some reason some people have created antivirus applications available from software center for linux Ubuntu 12.04LTS, hmm. Can someone please clarrify for me.

Thank you

Yes!! This version of Ubuntu is vulnerable. I'd say nothing is invulnerable these days but yeah!! Its far more safer than windows.:Laughing:

Ubuntu 12.04LTS is vulnerable to the recent heartbleed bug (The HeartBleed Bug)

This version also has almost 8 kernel vulnerabilities and this can be fixed by updating to system package linux-image-3.2.0-53 (3.2.0-53.81).

Some of the bugs are the following:

1.CVE 2013-1059
Its a Null pointer flaw in the Linux kernel's Ceph client.
A remote attacker could exploit this flaw to cause a DOS attack
(system crash).

2.CVE 2013-1060
Its a flaw in the Linux Kernel's perf tool that
allows for privilege escalation. A local user could exploit this flaw to run commands as root when using the perf tool.

3.CVE 2013-1064
Its an information leak in the Linux kernel's cdrom
driver
. A local user can exploit this leak to obtain sensitive information from kernel memory if the CD-ROM drive is malfunctioning.

4.CVE 2013-2232
It poses a threat when ipv6 socket is used to connect to ipv4 destination. An unprivileged local user could exploit this flaw to cause a DOS attack KaBOOOM!!

...and other 4 vulnerabilities with a comparatively low risk.

A fact you just said. :Thumbs-Up: A device that can run code is vulnerable to some code.
