Hey guys, I'm trying to advance my skills as a web-developer, & I'm just curious what tools all of you more experienced would recommend?

I've used Dreamweaver, but wasn't all that into coding back then. I mainly use Wordpress, & other platforms for client's sites, because I guarantee ease to update & manage, but I'd like to be able to work on more advanced sites for my portfolio.

What would you guys suggest?
