To me, there is no best AV. The best AV you can really have is being knowledgeable in not getting a virus on your own. Personally I don't run any AV on my computer since I don't really need it. If you are sure to scan any possibly infected file with VirusTotal and Anubis then you should be good. If by any chance you do get infected, you can most likely remove the infection via OTL, a security tool, or you can most likely just go into safe mode and fix in there. Or you can disconnect yourself from the internet and attempt to fix it like that as the hacker won't have access to your computer anymore.

Ever heard of exploit kits? Didn't think so. They infect you while your browsing and you can't do jack shit. Also, scanning on VirusTotal will definitely help if they used a decent ass crypter.
