While yes, Linux is a little bit more hands on in terms of tweaking games it mostly offers very similar performance. The biggest issue really is some anti-cheats but then again I'd rather not have kernel level anticheats in my system to begin with
.
Also nowadays there are tons of distros that are very well "tweaked" for gaming (see PikaOS, CachyOS, Endeavour and so many more).
However if you're very much into games like League, Valorant, Fortnite, Siege or whatever it may be then you should probably stick to windows.
