macOS actually has insanely good APIs for lower level development. If you ever get a chance to read their documentation, I’d recommend it. Apple is pretty big brain. Despite their hiccoughs every now and then (like inputting no password resulting in root access a few years ago), they have security at the heart of their development cycle (along with some other paradigms like usability ).
That and macOS is a good middle ground as a programmer between Windows usability and Linux production workflow. You also get access to more programs you can use because companies like supporting macOS.
